In La Trinidad, many vegetable farmers grow coffee as a by-product in a still natural area on the outskirts of town, away from the Benguet State University (BSU) campus and residential areas of the town center. Their yield has won prizes in national competitions in the past and annually to support coffee cultivation by holding an annual coffee festival and flavor competition for farmers.
